Hello, seniors!
As we welcome the month of August, let's kick off our newsletter with a sweet and refreshing joke: Why did the watermelon go to the doctor? Because it was feeling a little "seedy"! Did you also know that National Watermelon Day is celebrated on August 3rd? Make sure to enjoy this juicy and delicious fruit this month!
Now, let's dive into some fun and informative updates for the month ahead.
Indoor Activities:
As the summer heat continues to rise, it's important to stay cool and comfortable indoors. We suggest planning some fun indoor activities like board games or movie nights. Not only will this provide entertainment, but it will also give you a chance to connect with other residents and form new friendships.
Inspirational Quotes:
"Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it." - Charles R. Swindoll. Keep this quote in mind as a reminder to stay positive and focus on the good things in life.
Upcoming events:
Put on your lei and your hula skirts this month we have a luau planned for lunch time. We invite everyone to join. If you will be having guests join please let the kitchen know ahead of time at least 3 days in advance or as soon as possible so we may accommodate your guests. Delicious Hawaiian themed lunch and treats will be available as well as a Hawaiian happy hour! We will bring the island vibes and wave hello to summer! And the fun in August doesn’t stop there, we have Music on Wheels coming to treat us to a show. Their talents are delightful and nothing short of inspirational. Guests are also invited to this event but NO rsvp is necessary for this one–the more the merrier!
Staying Connected:
Finally, we want to remind everyone about the importance of staying socially connected and engaged with the community. Whether it's participating in group activities, attending events, or simply chatting with your neighbors, staying connected can help promote a sense of belonging and improve overall well-being. Try getting to know people on a deeper level by asking questions and listening. Then you can foster deeper, more meaningful connections.
And there you have it, folks! As we sign off, we want to leave you with one last joke: Why did the watermelon break up with the honeydew? Because it "cantaloupe" with all its heart!
Wishing you a happy and healthy August.
Sincerely,
Sierra View Senior Living
