OCTOBER 2023 NEWSLETTER

Dear Senior Friends,

Welcome to our October newsletter! We hope you're enjoying the fall season and getting into the spooky spirit of Halloween. As always, we've got some fun and informative content to share with you this month, so let's dive in!

Fall/Halloween-themed Section:

With Halloween just around the corner, it's the perfect time to start planning your spooky decorations, costumes, and treats. Here are a few fun ideas to get you started:

Bobby Sox: Join us for a visit with certified service dog, Bobby Sox,for a special Halloween visit. We are excited to guess what Bobby Sox adorable costume might be!

DIY Decorations: Nothing says Halloween like some creepy decorations around the house. We will create your own Halloween garland by the paper doll technique to make spooky ghosts. You can also create a spooky centerpiece for your dining table by choosing a mini pumpkin and painting a scary face.

Costume Ideas: If you're planning on dressing up for Halloween, there are plenty of creative and easy costume ideas that you can try. Why not go as a ghost, a pumpkin, or a witch? Or, you can dress up in a group costume with your friends or family members.

Seasonal Recipes: Fall is also a great time to indulge in some delicious and cozy dishes. You can make some classic pumpkin soup or try out a new recipe like pumpkin bread or butternut squash soup!

And now, for a little Halloween joke: "Why don't ghosts go on vacation? Because they're afraid they'll get sheet-faced!"

Here are some tips to help you stay healthy and happy:

Boosting Immunity: Make sure to get your flu shot and take vitamins like Vitamin C and Zinc to boost your immunity. You can also incorporate foods like garlic, ginger, and turmeric into your diet to help fight off infections.

Dealing with Seasonal Affective Disorder: If you're prone to feeling down during the fall and winter months, consider getting a light therapy lamp or taking a Vitamin D supplement. You can also try to stay active and get outside as much as possible to boost your mood.

Fashion and Beauty Section:

As the weather gets cooler, it's time to start thinking about your fall wardrobe and beauty routine. Here are some tips to help you look and feel your best:

Cozy Sweaters: Invest in some cozy and warm sweaters that you can layer over your outfits. You can also try wearing scarves and hats to stay warm and stylish.

Some good news is that we will be switching over to reusable glassware for our smoothies on Tuesdays! This is to reduce our plastic waste and will hopefully elevate the experience in more ways than just sustainability. We hope you join us for our classy smoothies every Tuesday afternoon.

Sincerely,
