Dear residents,
It's finally fall, and we hope you're enjoying the crisp weather and changing leaves! This month's newsletter is all about embracing the season and staying healthy and connected. So grab a pumpkin spice latte and let's dive in!
Fall Activities:
With the weather getting cooler, it's the perfect time to enjoy some fun fall activities. We recommend signing up for a field trip to enjoy the beautiful foliage, or getting creative with some fall crafts. There's nothing quite like a freshly picked apple to put you in the fall spirit. If you're looking for social events, join us for Friendsgiving on November 17th!
Here are some upcoming local events that residents might enjoy:

Friendsgiving: it's like Thanksgiving but it's on Friday November 17th at 5:30pm!
Cornish Christmas - Fridays from November 26 to December 17, 2021
This beloved holiday tradition transforms downtown Grass Valley into a winter wonderland, with carolers, vendors, and even Santa Claus himself. Enjoy some hot cocoa and take in the festive atmosphere with your fellow residents.
December 3rd will be an Open House event for our residents and prospective residents to mix and mingle. We will have tours and cocktail hour and some special little snacks! Any recommendations for the kitchen? What are your favorite special snacks the kitchen makes?
Health and Wellness:
As the temperature drops, it's important to take care of your health. Make sure to get your flu shot, and consider incorporating some immune-boosting foods into your diet. We recommend some warm and cozy soups or a hearty chili to keep you feeling healthy and satisfied. And don't forget to stay active! Even a short walk around the building or some simple at-home exercises can make a big difference in your overall health. Join Sandy or Bridget for exercises Monday through Saturday! Take a day for recovery on Sunday and do your best to keep an active lifestyle during the week.
Technology:
The holiday season is just around the corner, and it's more important than ever to stay connected with loved ones. Don't be intimidated by video calling apps like Zoom or Facetime - they're a great way to chat face-to-face with family and friends who may not be able to visit in person. Need some help getting started? Our tech-savvy staff is always available to lend a hand!
We hope this newsletter has given you some ideas for how to make the most of the fall season. As always, please reach out to our staff with any questions or concerns.
Just like in fall big changes lead to transformations. We say goodbye to two of our beloved care team staff members but hello to a few new friendly faces. Our team is adapting and developing but here at Sierra View we have always been like a family because we treat one another how we would want to be treated. Let’s show our new friends how special our place is!
Stay warm and happy fall!
Sincerely,
Sierra View Living
